Shoes, Sandal and Thong Recommendations

Shoes are often the culprit and cure.  As they wear out, shoes can provide uneven support, or worse, none at all. This leaves your muscles, tissues and bones more vulnerable to injury.

OUR 4 POINT GUIDE FOR SHOE TESTING

  1. Heel counters (area surrounding your heels) should be firm and not crushable.
  2. Shoe flex should occur only at the widest point of the shoe and NOT the arch.
  3. Torsional stability should be maintained so the shoe cannot be twisted like a wet dishrag.
  4. The outside should not be able to be compressed between two fingers.

Evaluate shoes carefully before purchasing.  A deep, firm heel counter provides more support and stability.  Purchase shoes in the afternoon.  Performance footwear sizing should be ½ to 1 full shoe size longer than the norm to allow room for push off and swelling.
